About me
Almost three decades ago, my daughter received an 18" heritage doll that not only became her favorite playmate, but also inspired me to follow in my grandmother's and great-grandmother's footsteps and use my sewing talents to gain extra pocket money. As my small hobby grew, I found myself in need of a career that would allow me to care for my child who had chronic health issues and also earn a single parent's income.
Years have flown by and have seen many changes in my life and career. I am proud that my daughter, Amanda has reached for the stars and has embraced a career in academia. I remarried, and my husband John and I enjoy the same passion for travel. John and Amanda take turns helping at the various venues where I show my doll garments.
Whether you are shopping online, at a show or visiting my home-based boutique, I strive to give you not only the quality expected from a hand-crafted garment but to have you leave my business loving dolls just a little bit more than when you arrived!
My most treasured childhood memories are of my dolls. As an adult, I have come to understand I have prosopagnosia - face-blindness. In a scary world of "strangers", dolls were a comfort. With each passing Christmas, my love for dolls grew. Every year, I would line my dolls up to greet Santa, so they could tell him personally how much they were loved! In 1983, I had my very own "living doll" - I named her Amanda. She grew up with the business, and we share our love of dolls with our customers.
